Cosmetology

Welcome to the world of cosmetology!  You are beginning a great new adventure that will change your life forever.

In the Cosmetology program, students will learn introductory practical skills by working with mannequins and fellow classmates.  The program focuses on professional image and positive attitude, and will help you earn practical hours to complete the state required 1500 hours in order to become licensed.  Students will learn to work in areas which include:  haircutting, braiding, coloring, highlighting, flat irons, disinfection control and hairstyling.

Careers related to the Cosmetology program include Cosmetologist, Barber, Nail Technician, Platform Artist, Product Sales Representative, Massage Specialist, Spa Owner, and more.  Once you complete your Cosmetology training and obtain your license to practice, the possibilities will become endless!

 

Cosmetology I

This class is open to all 11th and 12th graders who have earned a “C” average or better in 424 Biology or higher level.

 

Cosmetology II

Second year students must have a “C” average or better in Cosmetology I.

Learn the business side of operating a spa and discover the science and professional image to learn skills in aromatherapy, facials, hand and foot massage, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and make-up.
